We are proud to announce that, on the 6th October, Cargo Express became one of the few firms in its class to achieve the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Earned Recognition Accreditation – passing with flying colours, receiving a clean sheet with no major or minor notes.
Our accredited status was awarded for two years, formalising our rigorous process and standards track record of our transportation, logistics and warehousing organisation, as well as demonstrating our strong commitment to compliance.
As our Director Joseph O’Reilly explains:
“We’re very proud at this achievement which highlights our comprehensive procedures and dedication to being a safe and complaint operator. The DVSA accreditation process is intense and rigorous, but as we were already operating with high compliance procedures in place, it was easier for us to demonstrate.”
What does DVSA Earned Recognition involve?
Becoming one of the 106 Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) accredited operators, means that we needed to (and must continue to) demonstrate that we meet their list of requirements, as seen in the DVSA’s authorised audit providers code of practice.
Therefore, as an DVSA Earned Recognition operator, we are required to share information in monthly data reports with the DVSA, from vehicle maintenance through to driver working hours, up-to-date qualifications, and safety status.
We are also required to provide regular and proactive driver training to reduce accident risk, as well as spot checks to ensure that drivers have no toxins in their body, proof of regular eye tests and monthly licence checks.
How does this demonstrate our strong commitment to compliance?
Achieving DVSA Earned Recognition status showcases how safely we operate at Cargo Express, demonstrating that we have the correct policies in place and our organisations commitment to meeting driver and vehicle standards, as well as road safety measures. Therefore, to achieve this accreditation, it shows that we are operating at the highest level.
The data shared monthly with the DVSA will also indicate our ongoing compliance and proves that we are continually meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the accreditation – validating our credibility to customers.
